This bat has been pre-prepared by Gray Nicolls at their factory. A wood grain effect laminate facing has been applied to help protect the bat. However, it still needs some work before it can be used in matches.
It is suggested that you have net practice against an old, worn cricket ball. If after your first game, the bat face has no major dents or bruising, then that is good news. If there are large dents, then some more net practice against an old ball is needed.
