The Asics Gel–Pursue 7 (2E) running shoe is the "neutral" version of the GT-2000™ 9 trainer.
It's a functional design for runners who want a comfortable neutral running shoe with a supportive and responsive ride.
This season's updates offer an improved fit and feel through the upper while increasing underfoot comfort.
Made for those who require more room in their footwear, the width in this model is wider (2E) for a more accommodating fit.
The design uses a soft engineered mesh that lets the forefoot spread out while the no-sew overlays improve support in the heel.
Holes in the vamp offer a more customized fit in the forefoot, making it more conducive for different foot shapes.
Under the foot, a new arch support sock-liner provides a soft contour to the arch that provides runners with the right amount of support. Following a more sustainable design approach, this shoe also uses fewer resources to colour the sock-liner.
Although it doesn't feature DYNAMIC DUOMAX™ technology or another support component on the medial side of the midsole, this shoe uses a stability TRUSSTIC™ piece that provides added torsional rigidity. This component helps runners at different stages of their run. Some runners want support as soon as they step out the door while other runners need the added support when they get tired and start to fatigue during their run.
The lightweight FLYTEFOAM™ midsole material creates a softer feeling at foot-strike while the GEL™ technology cushioning is designed to increase shock absorption. Also designed for better durability, this shoe implements an AHARPLUS™ heel plug in the outsole to extend the shoe's lifespan.

AHAR PLUS OUTSOLE: Strategically positioned in critical areas of the outsole, this exceptionally durable compound is 50% more durable than standard ASICS High Abrasion Rubber.
ENGINEERED MESH: A technical mesh material that stretches in multiple directions, creating a glove, snug like fit that provides a unique balance of comfort and fit.
FLYTEFOAM TECHNOLOGY: Our lightest midsole ever. Its organic fibres bounce back into its original shape in the space of each stride to provide perfect cushioning from the start of your run to the finish.
GEL - REARFOOT AND FOREFOOT: Attenuates shock during impact and toe-off phases, and allows movement in multiple planes as the foot transitions through the gait cycle.
GUIDANCE TRUSSTIC SYSTEM TECHNOLOGY: This Trusstic System version integrates Guidance Line construction for enhanced gait efficiency while providing midfoot structural integrity.
ORTHOLITE SOCKLINER: This premium sockliner features higher rebound properties while providing excellent moisture management and a high-level of breathability
REFLECTIVITY: Special reflective material which enhances visibility in poor light.
